We mesh together 2D and 3D techniques to realise a surreal alternate dimension, centred around a virtual mountain. Traditional watercolour paintings will be digitised and transposed into the environment, giving a sense of texture. Physical sculptures and figures will be photogrammetrically scanned to create hyper-real and uncanny forms. By digitising physical forms the work explores how cyberspace emulates and transcends physicality. The work aims to incite an expanded state of consciousness, making the viewer more receptive to the embodied experience of being online.
Sian used game design software Unity to build and deploy the environment, Ellie created unfurl, revealing animated sculptural objects by Blender, The sky that captured from a scanned watercolour painting, animations popping in the journey are by me.
